    The race will start on the 1 mile track and run counter clockwise around then transition near start / finish line
    to the half mile track and run clockwise (so as not to cross each other), back on the 1 mile track counter clockwise
    then to the transition clockwise again on the half mile and directly to the finish the 1 mile track for 3.1 miles

       Directions: The Lawrence L. Bennett Harness Horse Training Facility is located in Hawkinsville, Georgia
                        19 miles off Interstate I-75, south Exit 135 at Perry, Georgia. Travel the Larry Walker Parkway,
                        go pass the Perry Georgia Ag. Center on your right. After a few miles the Larry Walker Parkway
                        turns into Golden Isles Parkway (US 341). Travel until you come to Hawkinsville.
                        Go through 1 stop light, and then you will come to a Stop sign. Turn left on to Broad Street (also US341)
                        go to the third stop light, just before McDonalds, turn right onto Jackson street, south( also Hwy I29).
                        Travel about 1-1/2 miles to Fire Tower Road, the Arena and training facility is on your right.
                       
 

  • Lawrence L. Bennett Training Facility - Located in Georgia's Magnolia Midlands, Hawkinsville
    is known as the "Harness Horse Capitol" of Georgia and has been a winter home for harness horse
    training since 1920, serving horsemen from northern United States and Canada. Hawkinsville in
    Pulaski County began the affair with harness racing in 1894, when Pulaski County Fair Association
    held their first official harness races. They have raced once a year ever since around the first of April,
    the weather in Hawkinsville seldom freezes, it is bright and sunny most of the time, making ideal
    conditions for training.
